Here’s a little Big East Tournament Bracket I made up tonight.
Marquette’s slump at the end of the season here didn’t do Notre Dame any favors. The Golden Eagles beat the Irish by 26 in the first meeting of the two teams this year. We rebounded nicely and beat them 86-83 in the Joyce Center in the second game, but it’s still a tougher draw than playing either a beat up Pitt team we beat by 12 a couple weeks ago or a Cincinnati team we beat by 27 in mid January.
Good news is that all potential Notre Dame games in the BE Tourney will be at 9:00 so there won’t be any need for calling out “sick” Thursday to catch the quarterfinals game.
Here is some crap. Just got on ESPN.com Bracketology board. Joe Lunardi updated and has us the 4 seed in the mid west. I will take the mid west region (detroit). Then I scroll down and see Uconn as a #3 seed. I got actually mad. They lost at Providence Friars this past week and he moves them up? That is some BS.
KUDOS, Bleed and Frankie. Also, how about steam rolling Florida (21-10) along the way getting into a final four bracket!
I hope Tory Jackson gets some love in the post season awards. His stats might not be as strong as McAlarney’s but Jackson was what made this time go most of the year. Without him, the comeback against Pitt never happens.
ND tied Louisville for 2nd place in the BE standings. With regards to the BE tourney they go to head2head tie breakers to place for seeding. Lousiville beat ND so they get the #2 seed. I will assume Marquette will win against Seton Hall. That will be a difficult matchup for us to move on. We need to clamp down on the 3pt line because Marquette has killed us on the 3pt line. We are a more balanced team. We rebound better. We lead the nation in assists. We score 80 a game compared to their 70. We should win I want a rematch with Louisville.
I think tomarrow they release the Big East awards. This is what I think ND will get
