- Boston College is ranked just 113th in the country at returning kickoffs so look for Mike Anello’s name to be called a couple times this weekend.
- The BC offense is not anywhere close to as potent as the version the Irish faced last year when Matt Ryan lead the Eagles into South Bend. BC is just 82nd in the country and more importantly they are only 59th in the country running the football which has been our biggest weakness on defense.
- Neither team has done a particularly good job winning the turnover battle this season. Turnovers have killed the Irish in road losses to MSU and UNC so far this year.
- Both teams do a good job protecting their quarterback but BC does a much better job getting after the opposing quarterback.
- BC is strong on defense across the board with their worst ranking being 19th, but their defensive numbers are a bit inflated thanks to games against Kent State, Rhode Island, and UCF.

I hope this makes its way into the ND locker room…
I don’t think it matters that they are only 59th in the country in rushing. The way our defense plays against the run they could be 119th and still look like their backfield was made up of Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith.
This game will come down to if the offense can score when it matters. Plain and simple.
I feel optimistic about this week. I think Brown’s comments will fire up the defense and i think Jimmy Clausen and the irish offense are going to want to prove that they can put up points in the second half of games.
I not only expect a win, i expect it to be done pretty deliberately.
