Lambert Downgraded to Doubtful

terrail lambertThe other day Charlie Weis said  he thought Terrail Lambert would be probable for this weekend’s Syracuse game, but on Tuesday Weis listed him as doubtful for Saturday.

I’d say doubtful for this week; probable for next week. I think this week it would be a real stretch to put him out there. But, I mean, he actually was out there starting to jog some, if you were to have seen him Thursday night you would have said there’s no chance that that was happening. I would say doubtful.

It’s a shame that it looks like Lambert won’t be able to go this weekend.  Lambert has been a three year starter for the Irish and might not be able to give it a go on his Senior Day.  While he’s had his ups and downs throughout his career he still gave the University five years of hard work so it’s sad to see that he probably won’t be able to close out his career the way he’d like.

In Lambert’s absence, look for more playing time for Robert Blanton who played a lot against Navy and looked pretty good out there.  Gary Gray will also see more playing time with Lambert out.

  1. excited about Blanton, but i do feel bad for Lambert. Playing on senior day is a big deal for these guys and i’m sure they’v all been looking forward to it for a long time.
i agree David. I think the best case scenario: score early. score often. let the players & coaches (and fans) have a nice relaxing second half. I mean c’mon, its Syracuse!

  2. Although i feel bad for the kid to not be able to play on senior day, i think blanton brings more talent and energy to the D.

Another note: charlie weis needs to be carefull on saturday. I know syracuse isnt great, but if you try to get cute and let all your seniors play, you could let them hang in the game long enough for another epic 4th quarter collapse. Winning the game should be the priority – play the best man at each position, regardless of they are seniors or not.
