Notre Dame kicks off the 2016 on Sunday night in Austin against the same Longhorns team they beat handily to open the 2015 season. In advance of the season opener, Notre Dame has released its official depth chart for the game.
Tevon Coney, Dexter Williams, and Kevin Stepherson are both listed in the two-deep despite their somewhat uncertain status following their mid-August arrests.
Freshmen Jamir Jones, Julian Love, Jalen Elliot, Devin Studstill, and Tommy Kraemer were the other frosh to crack the two-deep in addition to Stepherson.
Three positions (noted with *) have co-starters: QB, RB, and NT. The only surprise in that gorup is NT.
Coney is backing up Nyles Morgan at the MIKE after being in line for the starting WILL position.
Avery Sebastian is listed as the starting FS following the dismissal of Max Redfield with true freshman Studstill backing him up.
Trumbetti is unproductive. Find an athlete on the team and convert him into a pass rusher.
It appears that ND is going to have two freshman safeties starting once Sebastian and Tranquill get injured. Hope they’re ready.
A cryin’ shame indeed
Bummer about those injuries George.
Hope they get well soon.
