We finally know the start time for the regular-season finale between Notre Dame and Stanford. Fox announced this afternoon that the game will kick-off at 4:00 PM ET / 1:00 PM PT. This will be the first time since 2007 that a Notre Dame – Stanford game in Palo Alto won’t be a primetime matchup between the Irish and Cardinal.

Notre Dame enters this game with a chance to record their third straight 10-win season while Stanford limps in at 4-7 with no chance for attaining bowl eligiblity after losing to Cal this weekend. That means this game will be their bowl game which isn’t exactly great for the Irish. Notre Dame has plenty to play for as well, but the extra motivation for Stanford isn’t a welcomed addition to this matchup.
Notre Dame has not won in Palo Alto since 2007 – the last time the two teams last played in California during the day instead of primetime. Brian Kelly is 0-4 all-time on the road against Stanford and just 3-6 overall. The Stanford team Kelly and the Irish face this coming weekend though is not the same caliber of Cardinal team they have seen in the past.
The Cardinal have not been the same since their blue chip running back could not get away from the injury bug.

Yeah lucky for Notre Dame, USC and Stanford have been circling the drain the last 3 or 4 years or the Irish might be saddled with three or four losses this year
Jeff: “three or four losses” is a prediction that has already been shown to be wrong (again). Drop it already.
