The 2009 Notre Dame football roster was an assemblage of talented athletes that brought excitement and expectations to the Fighting Irish fanbase. Under the leadership of head coach Charlie Weis, the team aimed to regain its former glory and compete at the highest level. Quarterback Jimmy Clausen was the standout player, showcasing his arm talent and poise in the pocket. He had a solid supporting cast with wide receivers Michael Floyd and Golden Tate, who consistently made explosive plays downfield.

On the defensive side, the Irish boasted some notable talents like linebacker Manti Te’o, who displayed exceptional instincts and tackling prowess. Defensive end Ethan Johnson and safety Harrison Smith were key players anchoring the defense, intimidating opponents, and causing disruptions.
