After a one-year trip to the ACC as a full-time member for football in 2020, Notre Dame football returns to its normal scheduling in 2021.  Long-time rivals USC, Stanford, and Navy are all back on tap for the Fighting Irish after the COVID-19 impacted schedules removed the historic rivalries from the Irish schedule.  A neutral site showdown with the Wisconsin Badgers at Soldier Field and home games with North Carolina and surging Cincinnati highlight the toughest games in what otherwise figures to be a relatively ho-hum schedule by Notre Dame football standards.
