If you are heading to the Notre Dame – USC game this weekend from Chicago and are still in search of transportation to the game, check out The Irish Express before finalizing your plans. The Irish Express is a bus service from Chicago to South Bend on game days that offers a first-class tailgating and traveling experience for any Notre Dame fan.
For those unfamiliar, here is what The Irish Express offers:
- Breakfast, including bloody mary’s, at Punch Bowl Social
- Luxury coach bus ride to the game complete with drinks served on board
- A traditional tailgate with all the classics and bartenders on hand to keep the drinks flowing
- Transportation back to Chicago following the game with a restocked bar
If you’re looking to avoid the crazy hotel prices in South Bend or worried about a questionable AirBnB, the bus lets you stay in Chicago, but still have a full Notre Dame gameday experience without the dreaded drive back to Chicago on Sunday morning after a day of tailgating.
For anyone in the Chicago area who typically drives, the bus is a great way to partake in a rocking tailgate even if you don’t have a designated driver.
Full disclosure: the kind team at Irish Express has hooked us up in the past, but even still, I couldn’t recommend the bus enough. Everything that the team does on gameday is catered toward making sure everyone has a top-notch experience.
Don’t just take my word for it though, here’s a testimonial from one of their many satisfied customers:
“My wife and I have used Irish Express numerous times and have been super pleased every time!! Our daughter came with us for the USC game and had a blast!! It is very organized, runs ontime, the food is great and the bar is well stocked!! Everyone is very friendly and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a fun time!! We used to go to South Bend for the weekend but after staying in Chicago and trying Irish Express, it is the only way to go!!!”
If you are thinking of renting a car last minute for this weekend or just don’t want to make the drive on your own this weekend, they still have a few spots open on one of their buses for the showdown with USC.
If it’s too late for you this time around, they are running buses for Virginia Tech, Navy, and Boston College for the rest of the year also.
The Irish Express is excellent for groups, both big and small too. If you have a large group, they can accommodate big parties as well. If say, for instance, you have to plan a bachelor party for a Notre Dame fan in the fall, I couldn’t think of a better plan.
