Notre Dame’s final two prospects have chosen to attend college in Los Angeles.
Jawanza Starling, a four-star safety from Tallahassee committed to Southern Cal. Starling heads to USC in a class and program already loaded with talent at the safety position.
Damien Thigpen, a four-star running back from Virginia, who was initially committed to Phil Fulmer and Tennessee, ultimately decided on UCLA. Speculation suggests the Bruins held the upper hand because of their track program and Thigpen’s desire to take his speed to the olympic sport.
Long term focus officially turns to the 2010 recruiting class already off to a fast start, while in the near term, the Irish will look to announce their new defensive line coach.
UPDATE: Apparently, Starling has not yet signed his LOI so we will just have to sit back and see what happens.
He’ll transfer to FSU after his freshman year. just a thought..
what is the deal with starling? still see him as only being a verbal to usc. is there any news out there regarding this?
romeo crennel is our new d-line coach. j/k but i hear that one of the reasons Chris Martin commited is because he was told who the new d-line coach will be. so i think it might be a big land.
I hear starling hasn’t faxed in his letter of intent to usc yet…any chance the Irish can steal him?
“the Irish will look to announce their new defensive line coach.”
So is that to say that there is one selected?
They get Moore and Starling???? Thank God for Teo.
