Seantrel Henderson Rivals’ #1 Recruit

Notre Dame offensive tackle recruit Seantrel Henderson is Rivals.com’s #1 recruit for 2010 on their first Top 100 list of the year.  Henderson, one of, if not the most important recruit left for Notre Dame for 2010, was named Rivals Top Junior earlier this year so this comes as no surprise.

Hopefully seeing the success that his former Cretin Derham HS teammate Michael Floyd has had in such a short period of time at Notre Dame will work in Notre Dame’s favor because Henderson is the type of recruit Notre Dame HAS to land in order to get back among the nation’s elite for any extended period of time.  Based on most reports about Henderson, his recruitment will last well into the recruiting calendar and might not end until Signing Day 2010.  That gives Notre Dame plenty of time to show Henderson, along with the rest of the nation’s elite recruits whether or not Weis has the Irish headed in the right direction.

I’ve said it many times already this year (and will be saying it quite a bit more), but their is an outstanding class just waiting to be had for Notre Dame this year if the on field results are there this year.

Notre Dame commitment Chris Martin checks in at #12 while Christian Lombard is surprisingly not listed.  Lombard, a five star recruit on Scout, is not yet rated yet by Rivals. Also absent from the list is quarterback recruit Jake Heaps.

Other Notre Dame recruits of interest on the list include:

  • #3 Darius White (WR)
  • #4 Marcus Lattimore (RB)
  • #6 Jackson Jeffcoat (DE)
  • #8 James Hurst (OL)
  • #10 Jeff Luc (LB)

  1. Nice list of players. Not one dadgum DT in the bunch. If you look at the elite schools and the first player they recruit, it’s almost always a DT. I guess it’s back to converting a DE or offensive tackle to fill the need. Agian.

  2. this is the year. if it doesnt happen now its gonna be a long time before ND is truly back. im optimistic
