UHND Redesigns for Season 10

(UHND.com) – UHND underwent its second major redesign in the last year this weekend in preparation for our 10th season covering Notre Dame Football and recruiting. The design was not just for aesthetic appeal as we have added several features on our backend to allow for easier updating from us as well as some new features that should enhance your viewing of our site.

First off, we finally have added RSS to UHND. You can find a link to our RSS feed under Site Tools in the left-hand navigation. Our feed is being run through Feedburner and should be compatible with all the popular news feed programs. This is something we have wanted to add for some time, and our new backend has allowed us to add this.

One thing you will also notice is that the new site runs a lot smoother with the Firefox browser. The site is still 100% functional in Internet Explorer as well, but the new menu system in the left-hand navigation runs a lot smoother with Firefox. If you don’t have Firefox, it’s a great browser that typically is faster than IE as well as more secure.  If you don’t have Firefox, you can download it using the link to the right of this article to get it.
The 2006 season will be the 10th season for UHND.com. Back in 1997, Kyle started the site which was originally hosted on an AOL webserver before moving over to its own domain. I joined Kyle for the 1999 season after running The Golden Dome for the 1998 season.

Since then UHND has undergone a few major overhauls, most notably last year and now this year. We are very excited about the new look of UHND and hope it delivers information to you in a more organized manner as well as loading faster.

We plan on doing a some new features for the site as well while the season plays out. Look for an extensive history section to be added gradually throughout the season as well as some a gameday section of the site with tailgating tips for Notre Dame stadium and other guides for seeing a game at Notre Dame.

For now, click around the new site and let us know if you see anything not working and enjoy some of the preseason articles we have published over the weekend and this morning.

Thanks,
UHND.com
