Notre Dame Football Fall Camp ’16: Day 1 Videos
Saturday marked the first official practice for Notre Dame’s 2016 fall camp. The Irish are at Culver Academy to start fall camp again this year and will be there until Wednesday. Notre Dame published a video recapping some highlights from Day 1 at Camp Culver worth seeing.
Practice videos are usually short and only contain a few highlights, but after a long off-season, any football is good football. And today’s video does have some good plays in it.
- The catch at the end by true freshman Deon McIntosh was pretty impressive. It should be noted that McIntosh is listed as a RB/WR on the 2016 Notre Dame roster released yesterday. It will be interesting to follow where he lines up throughout camp.
- Speaking of plays by true freshmen, both Julian Love and Donte Vaughn made nice pass breakups in the video. Brian Kelly said on Friday that the freshmen defensive backs will play in 2016.
- Not much to see from the quarterbacks in the video other than some nice throws downfield by Deshone Kizer.
- Tyler Luatua and Nic Weishar both made nice catches at different times. With Alize Jones ineligible for the 2016 season, both will be called upon this fall.
- No surprise Tommy Kraemer and Hunter Bivin were shown battling – the two will be fighting for the starting right guard position with Tristen Hoge in camp in one of the more open position battles remaining.
