Notre Dame Football Highlights: Irish Run Wild on Vaunted NC State D
We heard all week about how Notre Dame would have trouble running on NC State’s #6 ranked run defense. Welp, the Irish weren’t listening. Notre Dame notched yet another 300+ yard performance and another 20+ point win over a ranked opponent. Josh Adams padded his Heisman resume with 202 yards including a77 yard third quarter touchdown.
The Notre Dame defense continue its streak of holding opponents to under 20 points again this week with some suffocating run defense of their own. Julian Love gave NC State quarterback Ryan Finley his first interception of the season with his third quarter pick six. The Irish defense actually only surrendered seven points on the day with the Wolfpack’s first touchdown of the day coming on a blocked punt.
Notre Dame avoided a let down following last weekend’s blowout of NC State and nearly had another 30+ point victory on their hands had Brandon Wimbush been able to connect on a couple deep throws that were open.
We’ll have plenty more on this one, but for now, enjoy the highlights and continue to trust the process.
Congratulations Frank, 8-0. Now, you’re going to keep us on edge for Miami. Josh Adams should be in top 10 in upcoming NFL draft. Could be #1 if Eddie D had anything to do with it in Frisco. He liked Notre Dame players; Joe Montana, Ricky Watters.
Just a solid game. It didn’t start so hot, but ND took care of business. Most impressive was the rushing yardage. I really didn’t think they would have the kind of success running on this team that they had previously.
But they are just dominating, and the defense is just incredible. Still just one rushing TD on the season. And now they are in the pilot seat the rest of the season. Tomorrow it will be time to start work on WF (which admittedly shouldn’t be as touch as USC or NC State, but they still need to stay on course).
ND needs to treat every remaining game very seriously .
The better team doesn’t always win. Northwestern beat Michigan State.
True. I think the coaches do a good job keeping the players down to Earth. After all, everything can come crashing down if they lose to WF. I’m just thrilled they are playing at such a high level.
