Notre Dame Basketball Highlights: Irish Top Mount St. Mary’s 88-62

The 13th ranked Notre Dame men’s basketball team won its second game of the season on Monday night with a strong second half powering past Mount St. Mary’s 88-62.  Bonzie Colson had a team high 27 points to go along with 11 rebounds and Rex Pflueger recorded the first double-double of his career with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Senior guard Matt Farrell had another 13 points and highly touted freshman DJ Harvey played 24 minutes of the bench while contributing 6 points.

Notre Dame will be back in action on Thursday with what should be a tune up game against Chicago State at 7:00 PM.  The game can be seen on the ACC Digital Network.

  1. This could be a special year for the men’s BB team. I saw the game against DePaul on Saturday, and while they let DePaul hang around a bit, they finally shut them down at the end. With Farrell, Gibbs, and Pfleuger, and esp. with Colson back this year, this team reminds me of the year we had Connaughton and Grant on the team.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Brey has done a good job these last few years preparing the team and it’s becoming more commonplace for them to compete with the UNC’s and Dukes’ of the world.

    Go Irish!
