After a sluggish start to the game for the Notre Dame offense, the Irish woke up in the second quarter thanks to a trio of turnovers by the defense and three big plays on offense. One of those big plays was a ridiculous 65 yard, tackle-breaking touchdown reception by Javon McKinley.
Touchdown Irish.
Javon McKinley makes SIX GUYS MISS on his way to six more points for the Irish.

McKinley’s highlight-reel play is the first touchdown of his career and gave Notre Dame a 28-0 lead. The Irish added a 39-yard touchdown to make it 35-0. The third big play was Avery Davis’s earlier touchdown on a 59-yard “pass” that came on a nifty play-call to put the Irish up 21-0.
It’s been a WEIRD first half for Notre Dame who has somehow managed to look uneven while at one point amassing a 35-0 lead. They haven’t been able to run the football with any sort of success while the big plays have put the Irish up big.
